AD Symposium a Success for Athletic Directors and Administrators

For the second consecutive year, the Athletic Director Symposium was a major success. Athletic Directors from throughout the Section came to the Doubletree Hotel in Culver City to hear informational talks, visit with vendors, share innovative ideas and collaborate with each other on important topics in the fields of athletics and education.

The purpose of the 2015 CIF-LACS Athletic Directors Symposium was to identify the most compelling issues facing athletic directors today and to provide up-to-date tools to address each issue. These tools will allow the athletic director to make participation in the interscholastic athletic program of his/her CIF-LACS member school a more meaningful and safer experience for each student-athlete.

Santee Athletic Director Tina Tamura and Belmont AD Neil LaSala did a wonderful job of putting the event together. Keynote speakers were Ron Nocetti (Associate Executive Director) and Diane Marshall-Freeman (General Counsel) from the CIF State office who did an outstanding job of presenting the current state of affairs in high school athletics.

Guest speakers presented various workshops included LaSala, Al Cone, Damasio Chavez, Candace Cayer, Karin Moore, Dawn Xitco, Kimberly Uyeda, Mark Edgemon, Georges Gilbert and Vicky Lagos.

We would like to thank the vendors who came out and supported this great event:

Cramer Athletic Supplies, Gatorade, Alert Services, Court Clean, Prime Force Unlimited, High School Calendars Company, Concordia University-Irvine, Positive Coaches Alliance, BSN Sports, Snap-Raise and Prep Gear.
