The Grant basketball program honored Howie Levine for 30 years of service by naming its court after him

cheetah Cambridge Housing for table salt nitrate first I'll talk about what a special evening it was not coach Levine wonderful evening all the alumni come back and a response we got when we first avela my dad wanted to come what's was great alumni that we hadn't seen in years coach had to talk to in years all the sudden started calling me emailing and I wanted to be here became became a great event and watching coach when I was the one light walked into he hadn't seen his he knew then this'll do was go the emotion on his face and the whole process at the end of the night was better than we expected and it was a great great thing to see coach you finally realize everything he's done for us so for me is one of the greatest quality is a he likes to instill in his players that it Fab in part is Trish's now for 30 years very big on you know just play hard no matter what happens what it does with his players as it becomes a life lesson you know everybody gets knocked down everybody has successes everybody has failures and and at the end of the day it's all about your effort level what you giving me you know he hasn't he hasn't seen no family basketball school for his suit if you're doing the right things it's all ends up being the same thing it's all one entity and that's kind of one of the things that all his players walk away with knowing that at the end of the day they have who has their back in his ready to help them when they need it in and get some out there knowing that they're going to fail things are going to happen but at the end of the day all they can do is work hard and things that you deserve will show up here couple years going to come in to talk to a couple years me and a couple of them a couple of former assistant coaches we knew his 30th year was coming up say hey Jim is named after the first coach from Keith we decided to stain the floor after coach went to the administration ministration was all all for it and it started the floors keep it a secret for the most part and it just a process nope that was looking on Facebook Rasta so it kind of work itself out over about 6 months 6 months process which culminated that night and black and stresses me have enough make sure everything went well it's crazy how many years he been on staff Elizabeth to work on Newark Poway why plate here so see if it for years and I've been coaching ever since in my 12th coaching since I graduated it means the world to me he's father figured he's one of the you know most influential man in my life and that's why I felt that this was the proper thing to do it I mean I made it a point to make sure we got it done so it means more to me than it might to him end of the day because I want to make sure that he knew so we all felt about the shop how we first of all talk about what it means to be coaching at Grandpa 30 years now hey I need some pouring means my Father's son so we stick around and jobs for a long time but it also means that there's only been two coaches here in the 50 what how long we've been here almost 60 where's now so then 58 years that the school has been in existence is only been to varsity basketball coaches and we can get that's pretty special pause on alumni night women do the one that came here and parents and friends to honor you and give you tribute with your name on the court all of that was really nice Touchton very emotional and I've been getting nothing but relations on the on the internet on the emails on the on the Facebook comedy all that social media very nice and the players have been quite wonderful and they've said some incredibly nice things that kind of put me to my knees and I just I tell them that they're all of them more than that I'm just a con doing as your dentist when the players are great players in the past that have done all the winning for us in the League titles and and made this all possible made me a winning coach I guess made me somewhat successful however don't want to cut sm4sh about tonight and we've got to season 2 play that's that's where most of that's where all of my concerns are as we're all of my thoughts are 29 years previous okay that's in the you were right now in the moment and we got to do something about this problem looking at this club what is something that some equality that you do like about this phone so I don't benefit you in the long run we can run hope we can get out on the open court I thought that we could shoot it shoot it a little bit he didn't handle the pressure and we're going to have to be able to handle pressure we're going to have to be able to handle ball pressure and be able to cut through differential pressure be able to get easy shots mustache Ford Council Bluffs
