This year, in addition to their generous donations to support golf programs within the Section, the Friends of Golf has donated complete sets of clubs and golf bags to players from the Los Angeles City Section who demonstrate an interest in the pursuit of participating on their high school golf program and a need for golf equipment. Each student receiving a set of clubs will be recommended by their coach and will have been selected based on the expressed need for a set of clubs. The distribution of the clubs took place at Venice High School on March 29, where 22 schools participated in the distribution. In addition, one of the golf professionals from Bel Air Country Club provided golf instruction and tips to the students receiving the clubs.
