A group of 44 of the best LA City Section golfers took to Balboa Golf Course on Monday in search of a team championship and individual title. By the time the sun had disappeared amidst the gray cloudy skies, Granada Hills had emerged as City champions for a fifth consecutive time.
The Highlanders shot a City record 406 en route to their 11th City title in 15 years. GHCHS sophomore Carol Cheng fired a one-under par 72 to win the individual title. She had tied Amanda Lee of Cleveland with the same score but was declared the winner by virtue of a tiebreaker that was decided upon the better score on the back nine.
