Concussion Training Required for High School Coaches as of January 1, 2013
As per Roger Blake, Executive Director of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) AB 1451, Concussion Training, was signed into law by Governor Brown that will now require coaches when renewing their CPR/FIRST AID certification to also complete training in signs and symptoms of concussions. The on-line class is FREE and available on the CIF web site through the NFHS at www.cifstate.org. The new law took effect January 1, 2013. The CIF was in support of this bill.
