hi Coast Arena first law congrats on being named the cow High coach of the year for women's please talk about how excited you were when you found out the news and what it meant to use a coach it's hard to put into Words Extreme be grateful and appreciative of cowhide for name and made California State coach of the year at surreal is it still really hasn't set in something that you don't really expect I'm thinking about you just show up your coach team to the best of your abilities and usually I praise you don't hear it you hear people saying play my kid more or should have won that game so for some for for group the prestigious group such as cowhide to come in and bestow such an honor on me I am I'm forever grateful you've had some great success you're a palisade since you're since you came aboard the last two years Captain the open division championship the highest level basketball for the City Section to talk about pillars of success here Palisades was it which is really enabled you to build a great program first and so I've been fortunate to surround myself with grade A people from everyone on my coaching style from the Edward Estevan Leilani Estevan and Giovanni Stewart Dominique Scott Sheldon Crowley and Metta World Peace Taurean Ross is so many people that don't necessarily get the credit that they should and so my job to make sure that when we do play games that represent them to the best of my abilities and so winning with those people daily has kind of a concept of hours in this program which is propelled us to a different level more things I know you like to do is go out there and play the best you have great tournament here and then you go out and test the waters to get some of the best teams in California just talking about just the thrill of going at the best  you set out you play against better opponents so when you practice you practice for better taking not the worst team in so you want to be able to play your best game versus best team when it matters most in the ultimately that's a championship game every game when you're prepping is important in so we treat every game like it's a championship so with that being said you have teams like stmary Stockton and Mater who are perennial powerhouses in it would do us a disservice if we weren't trying to play them are players continue to get better and will the challenge is to take them into those those atmospheres where there's a little bit of more of difficulty and seeing how they deal with the adversity we've been given fairly successful just in regards to scheduling the games we'd like to win a few of them though  recently we're part of Team USA still are of their instructional program of building a foundation for our youth ear in our country talk about how proud you are to be part of Team USA will they what's the next dear to my heart because you grow up watching the Team USA and mainly for me was the 92 Dream Team when there it kind of sets that gold standard in your heart where you're fighting to achieve some form of greatness and so to be affiliated with organized as incredible as USA Basketball is still a dream come true I'm excited about a pilot program that we are currently undertaken and it's open court program where you really focusing on the development portion of our scholar-athletes basketball game in all of it stems from fundamental basketball and excited to just be a part of that program still and lastly talk about your future you cut your content here and got some good things gone but what does the future hold for Coach Johnson basketball sometimes for me I'm always inspired by all of the Hall of Fame coaches sit where they did good or bad you know it's them being able to have that longevity and and coach work isn't necessarily work when you're doing it and you're not being paid for it so I take a great amount of pride in what I do as a coach and so I'm not coaching in a hurry and I don't necessarily have a destination I just know that I'm going to continue to coach it's it's not necessarily a job for me it's not a hob it's it's a career and so being able to be impactful to any level of player is again it's humbling and  I'm appreciative of the fact that there are parents who were willing to send their kids to Palisades and allow me to
