did you know that carbohydrates in the form of sugars can help athletes of course if this is your idea of being an athlete well you probably don't need any more sugar in y diet but if you're an in-season athlete like this with training or competition lasting an hour or more know that ingesting certain sugars during practices and games should we help power your performance a bit like how a race car uses high octane fuel the engine scientific studies show that the right types of sugars taken right time and in the right amounts can actually help maintain athletic performance  BC although muscles use a mixture of fuels carbohydrates what form of sugar are the primary ones use during higher intensity training in competition during exercise easily digested and absorbed carbs include sugar sucrose and glucose can be used quickly by the body to provide additional fuel for the muscles and brain the national athletic trainers Association recommend play for training or competition lasting an hour or more athlete should consume 30 to 60 grams of these rapidly burn carbohydrates per hour and easy to remember it's the equivalent of a 16 to 32 oz sports drink like Gatorade thirst quencher and we did 6% mixture of sugars studies show it's intentionally create to deliver energy while simultaneously helping an athlete's body rapidly absorb fluid to promote hydration and athlete's body uses the majority of consume well in the moment of activity which can help maintain energy endurance and performance the rest is likely burned during recovery knowing the facts about the cuz you consume helps athletes train smart and instead of hitting the wall in the 4th quarter athletes will have fuel in their engine when it
